What are the causes of my aches and pains?

Aches and Pains:

Aches and pains are a common symptom for many conditions and can cause lot of hindrance to our daily activities. They can vary in intensity and frequency and can be intermittent or chronic. Most pains could be categorized into those caused by tissue damage and nerve damage.

Common Causes:

Some common causes of body aches and pains include:

  • Common Flu 
  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Vitamin Deficiency
  • Stress
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Stress

What to Eat?

Eating Some foods can help relieve/ reduce the pain due to inflammation, joint pains, vitamin deficiency. Some of them are:

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Lentils
  • Foods containing Omega 3 Fatty acids
  • Staying hydrated all the time

Treatment & When to see the Doctor:

Mild pains may go away without treatment and most pains could be treated with painkillers and rest, by using hot packs, compression, ice and elevation.

 Make an appointment with the doctor If the pain does not go away with a few days of treatment and if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  •  Numbness
  •  Bruising or swelling 
  •  You can’t fully move your legs or arms,
  •  Redness or swelling
  •  High fever along with muscle or joint pain, 
  •  Increased muscle pain after you start taking medication
  •  Trouble breathing, and/or muscle weakness
